To mark the occasion of setting up of The Institute of Urban Designers – India, a day long sequence of events has been planned on the 15th of March, 2008. Spread over four different popular, public venues across the city of Delhi, the program for the day would include, apart from the formal launch ceremony itself, a public exhibition, a national level executive committee meeting as well as an evening get-together over drinks and dinner. More than 250 invitees from different sectors representing the profession of Urban Design, Architecture, Urban Planning and allied disciplines; dignitaries of the central, state and city governments particularly from urban development, housing, environment and human resource ministries; officials of government departments like the DDA, MCD, NDMC, DUAC, CPWD and others related to diverse aspects of the urban environment; executives and experts from public and private sector organizations like HUDCO, DMRC, ILFS, etc.; members of the corporate sector involved in urban development, housing, infrastructure, real-estate; academicians, researchers, students from all the technical colleges of architecture in the NCR; and, members of the press and media are expected to be a part of this opening celebration. It is envisaged that this set of events all through the day would be presided by a distinguished group of leaders from the central and state governments as well as members of the profession from various parts of the country.

Invitation for Event Support
IUDI invites corporate and institutional leaders in the sectors of urban development, architecture and allied areas to join the national launch event of the Institute and be a part of this memorable occasion. The expenses for the proposed Launch program is budgeted around Rs.16 lakhs only and it is envisaged that financial support of around Rs. 4 lakhs each from any corporate donor would be welcome. Acknowledgement to the support received by IUDI for this significant event would be displayed and announced at each of the four venues of the program apart from its mention along with all invites. IUDI is also open for a long term association of support and partnership in any of its future ventures, programs and activities planned in various parts of the country after the launch. |
